The Branding Process

Each brand design project takes approximately 5 to 8 weeks.  Full brand projects (brand, print and web) typically take two to four months.  Timing estimates depend on the project, and vision of my clients - that's you.  Big factors that have an impact on timing and cost are the number and complexity of revisions, client response timeliness, and my current booking schedule. 

Here's an outline of what the experience will look like:

1. CONSULT

Like any relationship, it all starts with an introduction to make sure we are a good match. After your initial inquiry review, we will set up a meeting, phone call, Skype, or Google Hangout session. I will ask you some questions regarding your business, vision and goals for your brand development and you get the chance to ask me your questions, too. This step will give us both a chance to get to know one another and make sure we are going to make an awesome team.

2. BOOKING

If we hit it off and find that we are a great match, I will put together a formal proposal for our project together and send it your way. You will receive an invoice for our first milestone payment to hold your spot in the Townsend Collective queue.

3. HOMEWORK

Since there is typically a slight wait time between this step and the next, I'll give you a little homework to help us prepare for our upcoming project.  I will send you my branding questionnaire so that we can go through and answer some important questions to insure we are on the same page prior to your project start date.  This questionnaire will provide valuable information for me as I move throughout your brand design process.

4. inspiration

The first step of the branding process is the creation of an inspiration board.  I will study your questionnaire and create a color palette along with style inspiration that will set the overall tone of your new brand. 

5. CREATion

Now that we have established your inspiration board, I will then get to work on creating the cornerstone of your new brand. The logo design process can take 4 to 9 weeks to complete. During this phase you will receive your second deliverable which will consist of your unique logo concepts designed based on the information given in the initial stages. Once received, you will have the opportunity to review and request revisions until you are completely in love with your new logo design.

6. DELIVERables

It’s now time to put it all together and create a brand board and style guide for your brand. This will contain your new logo, color palette and inspiration board, as well as sub marks, logo variations, social icons, patterns, fonts and any additional elements that will pull it all together. Once your approval is received and your final payment is made, I will package up your files and send them to you via digital download.

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

We can now take your newly designed brand and bring it to life on print materials and online platforms. Facebook and Twitter icons, business cards, letterhead, notecards and envelopes, stamps, stickers, product labels and more will help complete your new look.
